The mission of the Furnace Woods School is to inspire lifelong learning so that our children find joy in being productive, responsible and compassionate members of society. We achieve this by:
• Selecting and implementing diverse research-based instructional strategies
• Learning about each child through timely and ongoing assessments that guide their instruction
• Teaching and demonstrating respect for and acceptance of cultural diversity
• Promoting appreciation of and engagement in the arts
• Building a dynamic, open and inclusive partnership among the children, parents, teachers, staff, the principal and the community
