What is Ms. McCormack reading now? I love to read. That probably doesn't surprise any of you. I read very widely, but my favorite genres include: history, biographies, historical fiction and fantasy. I also love to talk about books, share what I'm reading and gather information from other people about what they enjoy reading to give me ideas of what to read next. I invite you to share your thoughts about what you read; make recommendations of books you've enjoyed; or read and then comment on some of the books I suggest.

The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley is a powerful re-imagining of Arthurian legend told from the perspective of the women in King Arthur's life. This fantasy novel spins the tale of King Arthur in the context of a cultural clash between Christian and Druids, male and female. This work provides new insight into the centuries of myth, legend and lore surrounding King Arthur.
A terrific read for anyone who enjoys fantasy or Arthurian legend.

Acceleration by Graham McNamee Working underneath the Toronto subway tunnels in the transit lost and found department for the summer, high school school senior Duncan feels adrift. Then one day while perusing the stacks of lost books, he discovers the the diary of a psychopath who has begun stalking potential targets for murder. If you had something to prove and knew time was running out, how far would you go to uncover the identity of a serial killer and catch him before he could strike?
A fun and quick read that contains the elements of a detective story, a thriller and a very sick individual.

Ender Wiggin's is a military genius sent at the age of six to Battle School for training to prepare him as a commander in a war against alien "buggers".
Besides the fast pace and tension, the interplay between a sense of exploitation and Ender's brilliance appealed to me. I recommend this book to those who enjoy science fiction, war and military fiction or a quick, suspenseful read.
