There will be a Hendrick Hudson School District Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., in the Hendrick Hudson District Office Board Room.
The Hendrick Hudson Board of Education met for its annual in-district retreat during the last week of July, identifying priorities for the new school year, reviewing the board’s outreach and communication goals, and reviewing the district’s soon-to-be-released Strategic Plan.

The Westchester County Health Department is offering free pediatric Moderna COVID-19 vaccines this summer. The vaccine clinics will be held on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon, by appointment only, for children ages six months to five years. The vaccine clinics will be held at the Health Department, 134 Court Street, White Plains.
First graders in Cynthia Neff’s class at Frank G. Lindsey learned you are never to young to make a difference when they made a paws-itively wonderful end-of-year donation to the SPCA in Briarcliff Manor.
At the June 29 Board of Education meeting, the district’s Strategic Planning consultant Education Elements, along with a number of planning team members, provided an update on the planning process, as the project moves toward its conclusion.
With the district preparing to implement the Princeton Plan in September, the Transportation Department has been developing the most efficient bus routes to transport Hen Hud students to and from their schools. Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter recently chatted with Supervisor of Transportation Liz Gilleo regarding transportation planning in the district.
“The sun always shines on Frank G. Lindsey,” said Principal Donna Torrisi, at the start of the school’s fifth grade Moving Up ceremony on June 23, also the last day of school in the district. Indeed, while other end-of-year ceremonies earlier in the week had to be maneuvered around potential showers, the sun peeked out from the clouds just as the middle school-bound students arrived on the school’s blacktop to the sounds of “Pomp and Circumstance.”
The air may have been chilly, but there was plenty of warmth to go around during Buchanan-Verplanck’s Moving Up ceremony for its middle school-bound fifth graders. The ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 22, at the Buchanan Pavilion.
The rain may have caused Blue Mountain Middle School to hold its eighth grade Moving Up ceremony indoors on June 21, but nothing could dim the excitement of students and families as they filed into the gym to celebrate the milestone event.
Despite the threat of rain, the Furnace Woods Moving Up ceremony on June 21 went off without a hitch, as students, staff, administrators and families celebrated in front of the school.
