Program Goal: To provide students with the experiences and instruction necessary to promote maximum independence for post 21.
We seek to provide students with instruction and experiences that enhance strengths and interests, while preparing them for maximum independence post-21. We are student driven and work with families to help align and achieve student goals. The team includes a Special Education Teacher, Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Behavior Analyst, and Physical Therapist. We employ a collaborative approach to learning to maximize student progress across all settings. Traditional academics are taught utilizing a functional lens and allow our students to build the necessary reading and math skills to navigate their community and lives as independently as possible. Students work daily on Functional Academics, Activities of Daily Living, Social Skills, Job skills training, Work Based Learning internships within our school and local community. In addition, the students are heavily involved in the high school community. Students participate in a wide variety of sports, clubs, and social functions with their peers. We partner with the Peer Leadership program on many events throughout the school year and each year have great spirit and enthusiasm for our Unified Basketball season.
