PIONEER LANDMARKS ASSIGNMENT
-
PIONEER LANDMARKS
The early trails that the pioneers traveled were just that-----TRAILS. There were no road signs or mile markers to help the travelers along. Instead the pioneers relied on landmarks.
Research the Oregon Trail landmarks listed below. Read, write two facts and draw a picture about each landmark. Use the sheet given to you in school to write your facts.
If possible, use the internet to read and see pictures of the landmarks. The website is www.historyglobe.com
- After you get to the home page, in the left hand corner, under Websites, it will say Oregon Trail.
- Click on this.
- Then you will see Oregon Trail Virtual Tour. At the bottom of this it will say, Start your tour of the Oregon Trail.
