Student Registration

  • *Due to the Governor's Stay at Home Order through June, Kindergarten Orientation is postponed awaiting further updates from NYS.  Once further details are shared regarding building use during the summer months, parents of Kindergarten students will be informed of next steps at our three Elementary Schools.


    Welcome to the Hendrick Hudson School District.  As a new resident you will need to verify residence and provide specific information on your child in order to register. 

    Please be advised that schools are closed, but we are still accepting documentation for kindergarten registration. Please contact your home school for information.   


    Your child must be age 5 on or before December 1 of the current school year in order to register for Kindergarten. 

    For example, for the 2020-2021 school year, your child must turn 5 on or before December 1, 2020.

    Kindergarten Registration begins each January (usually the third week) in your child’s home school.  Check our web calendar for the exact date.  Kindergarten registration will continue to be handled by your child's home school until the beginning of school in September.

    Between September and January of each year, kindergarten registration will take place at the District Office with Debby Marriott (914-257-5119), by appointment only.

    Please download the correct forms below and bring them with you, fully completed, to your appointment.


    Registration for grades 1-12 takes place at the District Office by appointment only.  While schools are closed, you may contact Debby Marriot after July 1, 2020 at 914-257-5119 or


    Please download, complete and print the "COMPLETE FORM: Fillable Student Registration Packet" below and bring all the forms and required documents with you to your registration appointment.  Registration can only proceed with a full and complete set of documents.

    The optional forms listed below as "SINGLE FORM" may be used if you require only one form to print out.  You may need single copies of specific forms if you are registering more than one child.

    While it is not required for entrance, if the student has seen the dentist within the past year, please complete the Dental Certificate found in the single forms listing below.

    ALL of the documents below are required to register a child in the district:

    1. Birth certificate(s).
    2. Immunization record(s). As of June 13, 2019 there is no longer a religious exemption ot the requirement that children be vaccinated against measels and other diseases to attend either, public, private or parochial for students in pre-kindergarten to 12th grade).     3. Completed physical examination form.
    4. Mortgage statement, deed, tax bill, OR a current signed lease or affidavit from the owner of the home (including relatives if you reside with them).
    5. Two currrent utility bills showing name and address, including telephone (not cell phone) bill and gas/electric bill.
    6. Parent/guardian driver’s license or identification showing current Hendrick Hudson District address.
    7. In case of divorce, separation or legal guardianship, please provide paperwork concerning custody of child(ren).


    Section 4402 of the Education Law has been amended by adding a new subdivision, effective July 1, 2015, requiring public schools to notify every parent of their rights regarding referral and evaluation of their child for the purposes of special education services or programs upon their child’s enrollment in public school.

    This amendment requires school districts to notify every parent or person in parental relation of their rights regarding the referral and evaluation of their child for the purposes of special education services or programs. This notification shall be provided to the parents of all students in the district (with and without disabilities) upon their child’s entry into public school.
