Students in every grade at Frank G. Lindsey are busy learning how to code during their library time, and even the youngest students have discovered how exciting it is to program a graphic or robot so that it moves, right before their eyes.
On January 10, more than 60 students attended the Annual Biomed Alumni Panel, held in the high school library during two afternoon periods. Thirteen alumni returned to share their personal insights about college and careers with current students.
The Katonah Museum of Art’s “Young Artists” show is an annual exhibition of artwork created by high school seniors. The show provides young, aspiring artists the unique and valuable opportunity to work behind-the-scenes to produce a museum exhibition. AP Art students Emma Gormley, Dana Ho, Dylan Montroy, Bianca Scott, Ruth Tenesaca, and Andrew Yee will have artwork displayed in this year’s exhibition.
Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter and local realtor and Hen Hud parent Don Dwyer met up for another discussion on local real estate trends. The takeaway? The local real estate market is exceptionally strong, with more people wanting to live here than there are houses available.
Hendrick Hudson High School Senior James Reilly has been named a Con Edison Athlete of the week for outstanding athletic and academic accomplishments, as well as leadership qualities and a commitment to community service.
For the second year in a row, the high school’s SAILOR program has run a homemade dog treat business called Dogs Can Just Enjoy. Since launching the business in the fall of 2018, the students have sold hundreds of bags of treats to district staff. According to teacher Christina Feal, sales have doubled since last year and show no sign of slowing down.
Hendrick Hudson High School senior Eli Aaronson committed to joining the Lehigh University track and field team during the December NCAA Division 1 signing period. Eli has been a member of the Hendrick Hudson varsity track and field team since he was in seventh grade.
