Budget Vote Information

Polls will open from 7 am – 9 pm on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in the Frank G. Lindsey Elementary School Gym.  

Register to Vote Information

If you are registered to vote in the general election and have voted within the last four years, you are also registered to vote in the school district election.

Qualifications to Register to Vote, you must:

  • be a United States Citizen;
  • be 18 years old by the time of the vote;
  • be a resident of the Hendrick Hudson Central School District for at least 30 days before the election;
  • not be in prison or on parole for a felony conviction (unless the parolee is pardoned or restored rights of citizenship);
  • not be adjudged mentally incompetent by a court;
  • not claim the right to vote elsewhere.

How and Where to Register to Vote:

  • You can register in person or online through the Westchester County Board of Election
  • You can register through the Department of Motor Vehicles
  • If you wish to register for only the school district election, you may register in person with Carmen Koch, District Clerk at the School District Administration Building, 61 Trolley Road, Montrose, NY, 10548, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. up to five days before the vote, May 16, 2024. 

Military Voters

Military Ballot Application - in order for a military voter to be issued a military ballot, a valid military ballot application must be return to the district by mail or in person, not later than 5:00 PM on the 26th day before the election.

Military Voter Registration Application (Districts with Personal Registration)

If you wish to register for only the school district election, as per the regulations, registration applications must be received by the district no later than 5:00 PM on the day before the board of registration will meet to prepare the school district register. (8 NYCRR § 122.3[c]). However, in order for a military voter to be issued a military ballot, a valid military ballot application must be received by the district no later than 5:00 PM on the 26th day before the election (8 NYCRR § 122.3[d]). Therefore, as a practical matter, the military voter must be registered no later than 5:00 pm on the 26th day before the election, in order to be issued a ballot for the annual budget vote and election. For school districts that provide for the registration of voters during certain specified hours of the school day, as per the regulations, registration applications must be received no later than 5:00 pm on the 26th day before the election. (8 NYCRR § 122.3[c]).

Absentee Ballots

Applications for absentee ballots are available for registered voters who will not be able to vote in person on May 21, 2024. You may apply in person at the School District Administration Building for an absentee ballot application or by downloading the

Please note, the legislation that defined “illness” due to the risk of contacting COVID-19, expired on January 1, 2023, and is no longer an option to receive an absentee ballot.  Absentee ballot applications should be submitted in original form, with the original signature. It must be submitted at least seven days before the vote/election, May 14, 2024, if the ballot will be mailed to the voter and by the day before the vote/election, May 20, 2024, if the ballot will be personally picked up by the voter. Absentee ballots must be received by the District Clerk by 5:00 pm on May 21, 2024, in order to be counted.  Applications may not be submitted more than 30 days prior to the election.
