Welcome to the 2025-2026 UPK Registration Process!!

The District is proud to continue our UPK Program through two collaborators - A Rising Star Children’s Center will enroll up to 18 District UPK students and the Family YMCA at Tarrytown will have open enrollment for District UPK students at BV and FW.  Please note that students registering for the YMCA In-District classes will be placed in the program based on home address.

Please read a more complete description of both programs below - you will need to ‘choose’ Rising Star in the registration process.

Who is an ‘eligible UPK student’?Your child must turn 4 before December 1, 2025. If your child turns 5 at any time before December 1, 2025, they may not attend UPK - any student who is age eligible for Kindergarten in September CANNOT attend a federally funded UPK Program.

2025-2026 UPK Registration will be open starting January 21, 2025

A Rising Star Children’s Center

A Rising Star has been offering UPK classes for the Hendrick Hudson District since 2022.  For families with younger siblings or requiring additional hours, ARS provides programs for care before and after school and educational programs for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.

Before & After School Care: 7:00-9:00am – 2:00-6:00pm *

With the exception of Federal Holidays – ARS is open and can offer program on days the District is closed

*Prices for before and after school program available upon request

In-District Program through the Family YMCA at Tarrytown

The Family YMCA at Tarrytown (the “Y”) is the collaborator who will provide the UPK program in
the District at both Buchanan Verplanck Elementary and Furnace Woods Elementary schools.

(Parents drop off between 9:00-9:05 am; dismissal begins at 2:30)
