    Dear Students and Families:

Welcome to fifth grade!   I am looking forward to a fabulous year!

This year we are on a six day schedule.     Please make sure you are prepared for gym with your sneakers on gym days, which will be days 2 and 4.  Don't forget your library books on day 3!     Wear your art clothes on day 1!      Our music days will be day  6when we have music and day 5 when we have chorus.

Please be sure to pack a healthy snack each day.   You will have time for a working snack each morning.   Lunch will be at 12:15.

Homework is an important part of our day.   It is written on the SmartBoard each morning And will stay on the Homework chart for the entire day.    We will be using Google Classroom and homework assignments will be posted there.   Please make sure that homework is completed each night and signed by an adult at home.   Reading each evening is a very important part of your homework each night!

I will send home Scholastic Book Orders one time per month.   The link on this page can also be used to view the catalog and order books right from Scholastic, to be sent to the classroom when we complete the class order.   Our first order will go in on Wednesday, September 14th.     If you would like to order online, just go to the Scholastic Website at http://www.scholastic.com/bookclubs and use the Class Activation Code: H4CM8.     It is a great way to find Just Right Books each month!

Please feel free to contact me by telephone, email, or homework book at any time.

                                                       Sincerely,

                                                       Mrs. Rosen
