Colleagues, friends, staff members and alumni gathered at Blue Mountain Middle School to celebrate former Principal Frank Thomas, who passed away in 2017. Led by former Hendrick Hudson School District Superintendent Joan Thompson, the group dedicated an art display case and memorial plaque, which will be home to student artwork as well as that of Thomas, who was also an art lover and artist.
Hendrick Hudson School District Superintendent Joe Hochreiter and Transportation Supervisor Liz Gilleo discussed the new Stop Arm Camera Law in New York State in a new podcast interview.
We are pleased to announce that the Hendrick Hudson School District has received approval to begin hosting games on its new turf field. While the field is ready for play, the track is not yet complete. We are excited to share the brand-new state-of-the-art facility with the community, and we thank you for your support. Join us this week to watch our students play:
Hendrick Hudson High School senior James Reilly has been named a Semifinalist in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Competition. Seniors Matthew Klimek, Adhithya Rajasekar, and Julian Yu have been named Commended students.
Hendrick Hudson High School senior Jen Gougelmann was selected as this week's Con Ed Scholar Athlete of the Week for Westchester County for her many awards and successes on the Girls Swim Team as well as her stellar academic record. The four-year varsity swim team captain received All League, All Section and All State honors last season and is poised to do the same this year. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, National Math Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society. Her interview on WHUD Radio can be heard on Sunday, September 29, at 5:15 am and will be posted on the WHUD website.
On Friday, October 4, the Hendrick Hudson Hall of Fame Committee will induct its 2019 members into the Hen Hud Athletic Hall of Fame. Inductees will also be presented to the community during halftime of the homecoming football game against Poughkeepsie that night.
