Professional Development
The District's professional development planning is grounded in the following beliefs:
- Effective educators impact student acheivement beyond all other competing factors.
- An atmosphere of support and the availability of opportunities promote professional growth.
- All educators must be involved in professional growth throughout their careers that includes, but is not limited to, continuing coursework, joining professional organizations, keeping current on education research in their content area, and providing professional learning to others.
- A high level of trust and collaboration among the professional staff enables the district to attract and retain quality educators.
The District continues to involve colleagues in the planning of both in-district and out-of-district learning experiences. As a professional learning community, we recognize the importance of mentoring new colleagues as they join our schools and seek to provide the depth and breadth of support appropriate to their level of experience as an educator.
