Blue Mountain Middle School Welcomes Presenters on Career Day

On Monday, May 20, students at Blue Mountain Middle School learned first-hand from 37 different presenters of various professions during the school’s annual Career Day. This year, prior to the day of the event, students were able to rank the presenters, and a special schedule was created for each student so they could learn about amazing careers in an area of their interest.

The presentations included Superintendent of Schools Michael A. Tromblee, Director of Facilities Anthony Merlini and Hendrick Hudson High School’s Project Lead the Way teacher Dr. Jeanine Hall, along with some of Dr. Hall’s PLTW students. There were many parents and community members who presented as well, covering various exciting career fields, including lawyers, researchers, business entrepreneurs and executives, healthcare workers, contractors, and much more.

“The students were engaged and excited to learn about so many career paths and possibilities,” said eighth grade science teacher Danielle Sugerman, who organized the Career Day with colleague Robin deGrasse. “A big thank you to our principal, Anthony Giovinazzi, and all the teachers, as well as the Blue Mountain Middle School PTA and others who supported this important and exciting day.”
