Biomed Students Learn How to Stop Bleeding in an Emergency
Students in Dr. Jeanine Hall’s first year Project Lead the Way Principles of Biomedical Science course completed a performance-based lesson and assessment where they used a simulated arm to learn how to stop bleeding in an emergency situation.
“I thought that the Stop the Bleed challenge was really fun," Biomedical Science student Avery Cody said. "I enjoyed having friends around to help me. I also thought that it will be super helpful in real-world situations. If someone does need immediate care, we will have an idea of what we need to do. Overall, I thought it was super fun and something I would do again.”
"It's exciting to see the significant increase in students’ confidence and technique in just a few minutes of them working on the simulated arm," Dr. Hall said.
