Career Fair Offers Students a Chance to Explore

Hendrick Hudson High School held a Career Fair April 11, 2025.

During lunch periods on Friday, April 11 at Hendrick Hudson High School, 20 tables ringed the cafeteria perimeter. They featured representatives from NewYork-Presbyterian, the Town of Cortlandt, New York City’s Department of Labor and Mike Risko Music in Ossining, plus members of law enforcement, the legal field, and much more.

The 2025 Career Fair, which was hosted for the first time by the district’s Guidance Department, offered students an opportunity to learn more about various career fields.

“Our students had the chance today to meet someone new who could maybe create that spark in them,” said Dr. Aaron Kleinman, Hendrick Hudson’s Director of Guidance. “That may lead to an idea of, ‘Hey, maybe this is something I’d like to pursue.’”

The setting allowed students to approach the tables, begin conversations, and learn valuable information. There were attorneys and counselors, graphic designers, and various health-related careers represented, to name a few.

The event had previously been held in the evening, but Dr. Kleinman said the timing was changed to accommodate students in and effort to boost visibility and attendance.

“We thought by doing it during the day it would create more foot traffic,” Dr. Kleinman said. “Our goal is to have our students become more aware of some of these professions and hope they can find something they are interested in.”
