Elementary Students Mark 100th Day of School with Parades, Projects
On Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, Hendrick Hudson students completed their 100th day of school for the 2024-25 school year. At Buchanan-Verplanck and Furnace Woods Elementary Schools, the children marked the occasion with several fun activities that united their schools in celebration.
Both buildings staged a schoolwide parade at 10:40 a.m., which doubled as the 100th minute of the 100th day of school. Fellow students and staff members cheered on those in the processions, which weaved through the hallways. Students donned 100th day crowns and some wore special t-shirts they designed at home. There were even students dressed up as if they were 100, wearing gray makeup, wigs, glasses and long sweaters.
In classrooms throughout the buildings on Tuesday morning, the students worked on projects with 100th day themes. They decorated pictures of themselves that had been digitally aged, stacked 100 blocks and cups, wrote down 100 words they identified around the classroom and more.
Congratulations to our young Sailors on completing 100 days of school!
