Four Hendrick Hudson Students Perform in Prestigious National Honor Choir
Hendrick Hudson High School is celebrating the success of four outstanding students who were accepted into the prestigious American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Honor Choir, which took place this past March in Dallas.
“This highly competitive program brings together the best young vocalists from across the country, offering them the opportunity to perform under the direction of world-renowned conductors,” Hendrick Hudson High School Choir Director Erica Denler said.
The four talented students — Aydan Akhtar, Nava Minichino, Henry Ridder (pictured right) and Sophia Solinsky (pictured below) — earned their spots through a rigorous audition process, competing against 5,000-plus students for 1,200 spots.
Under the guidance of Ms. Denler, these students have honed their musical abilities through countless hours of rehearsals.
During their time in Dallas, students participated in intensive rehearsals, attended master classes, and had the opportunity to work with many of the composers of the music they performed.
“The experience not only elevated their musicianship, but also provided them with invaluable connections in the world of choral music,” Denler said.
All four students agreed that the ACDA experience profoundly impacted them, shaping their growth as musicians and as individuals.
“The students said the level of music making and the energy and friendships they made will stay with them forever,” Denler said.
