Furnace Woods, Buchanan-Verplanck Collaborate on Science Celebration

Teachers at Furnace Woods and Buchanan-Verplanck Elementary Schools collaborated this week on two days of science-focused fun during Science Celebration Days.

Students from both schools participated in the same activities — one that simulated an oil spill, another that including planting. They also attended an assembly about recycling. All activities centered around an Earth Day theme.

Materials for the activities were generously funded by the Hen Hud Elementary PTA. There were also a number of parent volunteers who provided support to help the students complete their projects.
