Girls Soccer Team Welcomes a Special Honorary Captain

On Thursday, Oct. 10, the Hen Hud girls varsity soccer team hosted Edgemont High School in its Cancer Awareness Game. The event coincided with Breast Cancer Awareness Month and also to show support for our fellow Sailor, Ryan Snyder, a fourth-grade student at Frank G. Lindsey Elementary School.

Organization of the event was spearheaded by the team's senior captain, Oakley Gougelmann. Ryan served as an honorary captain, joining the team on the field before, during and after the game and posing for photos with players, coaches and Hendrick Hudson staff. The Sailors defeated Edgemont, 2-0.

Proceeds from the sale of baked goods and other items will be donated to the Snyder family.
