Hello Dolly! Earns 5 Nominations for Metro Awards

Hendrick Hudson received five nominations for the 2025 Metro Awards.

The Hendrick Hudson High School Drama Club is beaming with pride as the cast and crew of this year’s musical, “Hello, Dolly!” earned five nominations in the prestigious Metro Awards: the Metropolitan High School Theater Awards, which are presented annually by the Helen Hayes Youth Theatre.

“They are often referred to as the Tony Awards for high schools,” Hendrick Hudson Musical Director Erica Denler said. “The Metro Awards recognize excellence in high school musical theater across the tri-state area.”

This 2025 Metro Award nominees from Hendrick Hudson are:

Outstanding Performance of a Small Group — “Elegance,” by Aydan Akhtar, Jordan Cobb, Aaarti Rajaseker, and Addison Valentino

Outstanding Performance of a Stage Crew — Stage Managers: Sophia Jones and Cecilia Salazar; Stage and tech crew: Kaitlyn Barrera, Shayla Boyd, Josephine Cox, Malia Grant, Ve Lenz, Castalia Litos, Emma Rochelle, JT Savva, and Mattias Seenjan

Outstanding Performance by a Student Critic — Castalia Litos

Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design — Mrs. Denler

Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction — Mrs. Denler

The Metro Awards will take place on June 2, 2025 at The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College.
