Hendrick Hudson Appoints Interim Assistant Superintendent for Business

On June 5, 2024, the Hendrick Hudson Central School District appointed Ms. Jill Figarella as its Interim Assistant Superintendent for Business, effective July 1, 2024. She will replace Mr. Enrique Catalan, who begins his retirement on June 28, 2024 after 16 years of service in the district.

Ms. Figarella will oversee all aspects of Hendrick Hudson’s business office as well as transportation, facilities, and food service.

“Her experience and leadership capacity will be a major asset to our district,” said Michael A. Tromblee, Hendrick Hudson’s Superintendent of Schools.

Ms. Figarella will retire this June from her role as the Director of Business Administration for the Putnam Valley Central School District. She served for 32 years in Putnam Valley’s business office and holds certification as a New York State School District Building Leader.

Ms. Figarella spent the first 23 years of her career immersed in all aspects of business office operations while working as the lead senior accountant alongside Putnam Valley’s Assistant Superintendent for Business. She was appointed to fulfill the role of the school district’s business official in 2014.

During her time in Putnam Valley, Ms. Figarella, who holds a master’s degree from Pace University in School District Business Leadership, developed and successfully managed eight school budgets in a collaborative manner, ensuring fiscal responsibility and a sustainable spending plan.

“He knowledge of long-term budget planning, accounting, capital planning, business operations, and food service operations will truly continue to guide our district in a positive direction,” Mr. Tromblee said. “Please join me in welcoming Ms. Figarella.”
