Based on criteria the school achieved during the 2023-24 school year, Hendrick Hudson High School has earned a place on the prestigious 2024 AP School Honor Roll.

“This is a wonderful recognition of the hard work and dedication of our students and staff,” Principal Lauren Scollins said. “Our teachers work hard to ensure all students who wish to be a part of these learning experiences have access to the curriculum and our students are dedicated to the rigors of the work in Advanced Placement courses.”

The AP program, which was created by the College Board, provides students with the opportunity to pursue college-level work while in high school and potentially earn college credit and placement.

During the 2023-24 school year, Hendrick Hudson High School met the following criteria to earn its AP Honor Roll status:

College Credit: The percentage of students in the 2024 graduating class who earned College Credit through their results on AP exams

College Optimization: The percentage of students in the graduating class who took five or more AP exams while in high school

College Culture: The percentage of students in the graduating class who took an AP exam at any point in high school

To qualify for the AP School Honor Roll, Hendrick Hudson High School needed to meet or exceed the criteria in all three of the above metrics. The school achieved Silver status or better in all three categories and reached the highest status, Platinum, in the College Credit category due to 51% of the Class of 2024 having scored a 3 or better on at least one AP exam.

Hendrick Hudson High School was also recognized with an AP Access Award, an additional honor that recognizes schools for providing all students the chance to participate in the AP program.

Hendrick Hudson High School received the AP Access Award based on students of underrepresented and/or low-income populations participating in AP courses at the same rate or at a greater percentage of the graduating class of 2024 as a whole.
