Hendrick Hudson Performs with All-State Choir at Renowned Theater

Congratulations to Hendrick Hudson High School senior Alec Elkin, who performed in the NYSSMA All-State Mixed Choir at the iconic Eastman Kodak Theater last weekend.
The theater is located at the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music. The venue first opened as a silent movie theater in 1922 and has served as a center for musical and other performances for over 100 years.
During his trip to Rochester, Elkin sang with 300 junior and seniors from all over New York State. He said his favorite part of the experience was the sense of community and togetherness he experienced within the ensemble.
Elkin also thanked his teacher, Chorus director Erica Denler, for her assistance throughout his years in Hendrick Hudson.
“The entire experience was incredible,” Elkin said. “Music has really helped shape who I am as a person. Being involved in music at Hendrick Hudson High School has meant the world to me.”
