Hendrick Hudson Sends Strong Representation to NYSSMA Area All-State Concerts

Congratulations to all of the Hendrick Hudson musicians who participated in the 2025 NYSSMA Area All-State concerts last week at Purchase College. Hendrick Hudson had 18 student participants and one alternate this year.

Students were selected for these prestigious honor ensembles based on their outstanding NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) solo scores from the spring. These student earned the opportunity to perform alongside the top student musicians in Westchester County.

"It is always an extremely rewarding experience, albeit exhausting, but in the end you’ve created music and have had the chance to collaborate with musicians as dedicated as you," said senior Nikko Bianchi, a violinist in the Area All-State Symphony Orchestra.

The district also extends its gratitude to our dedicated music faculty for their leadership and service. Mrs. Erica Denler served as the Treble Chorus Co-Chair, and Mrs. Lauren Morabito served as the String Orchestra Co-Chair. Since April, both have played key roles in planning the event — nominating conductors, reviewing and approving concert repertoire, coordinating student selection, and communicating with teachers across the county.

Additionally, Mrs. Kimberly Dunkin, the NYSSMA Zone 11 Representative for Westchester, helped to oversee the festival and all of its moving parts for the more than 500 students involved.
