Hendrick Hudson Senior Selected to Compete in Prestigious Track and Field Event

Congratulations to Hen Hud's own Victor Delgado, who was invited to compete Sunday in the prestigious Nike Boys' Mile at the Millrose Games, an event held annually since 1908. Victor was one of 14 athletes selected from across the country to compete in the race.

"This is one of the most impressive athletic accomplishments ever by any Hen Hud athlete," longtime Sailors coach Marcia Bailey said. "What an honor for him and our track and field program."

Due to meet rules, athletes in New York represent their region rather than their individual schools. The Hen Hud star ran his second best time of the season, clocking a 4:17.88. His personal best of 4:14.77 currently ranks him No. 2 in New York state.

Victor holds all of the school records in distance events ranging from the 1,000 to 5,000 meters. He's a first-team all-state athlete in track and field and cross-country who was also named a Con Edison Athlete of the Week last fall.
