Hendrick Hudson’s Liv Johnsen Commits to Play Division I Soccer
Hendrick Hudson High School senior Liv Johnsen signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I soccer at the University at Buffalo. Johnsen has been a force for Sailor head coach Bill Pagel since joining the varsity team as a freshman.
Johnson’s commitment was celebrated during a signing ceremony on Nov. 14, 2024 at Hendrick Hudson High School.
The high-scoring Johnsen has earned All-Section and All-League status and was also named to Section One’s Elite 12. She has amassed 63 goals and 34 assists for a total of 97 career points through four varsity seasons.
All three of those marks are Hendrick Hudson program records.
“Liv is an incredible talent, possibly the best to ever play at Hendrick Hudson,” Pagel said. “She’s had a significant impact on our program since her first day on the team as a freshman. Her skill and talent helped make her a dominant player on the field and has helped elevate the play of her teammates. Liv sets the bar high for herself and works extremely hard to achieve her goals while also being incredibly humble. These are two great qualities Liv has that make her a great leader and have helped inspire and motivate her teammates to excel. Her impact on the program will be long lasting. We are very proud of her for continuing her soccer career at Buffalo.”
The University at Buffalo is located in Buffalo, N.Y. The women’s soccer program competes at the NCAA Division I level and is a member of the Mid-American Conference.
