Kindergarteners Hold an Election of Their Own

In the spirit of Election Day, Nupur Pal-Kolisz's kindergarten class learned about civics with the students participating in their own election on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024. They listened to the book "Duck for President" by Doreen Cronin and made a list of characteristics of each candidate, Farmer Brown and Duck.
After creating those lists, they signed their names on the sign-in sheet, filled out their ballots, and cast their votes for either Farmer Brown or Duck.
The votes were counted at the end of the day and Duck won by a landslide 14 to 2.
"The class was thrilled with the results," Pal-Kolisz said.
