Students Honored for Excellence in Italian

Three Italian students were honored for their outstanding work.

Three Hendrick Hudson High School students were honored last month at Somers Middle School for their excellence in studying Italian.

Three students were honored for their excellence in Italian.

Luke Conticello, Castalia Litos and Luca Tucci were recognized as Outstanding Students of the Italian Language in Westchester, Putnam & Dutchess Counties during a ceremony held at Somers Middle School. The event was co-sponsored by the Westchester Coalition of Italian-American Organizations, the Eastchester High School Italian Club, and the Società Onoraria Italica-AATI.

Litos was awarded an Ace Endico scholarship for her achievements and her commitment to studying the language. Conticello and Tucci each received an Excellence in Italian Award. The students were accompanied by teachers Antonietta Gliubizzi and Carrie Cristiano.

The ceremony was one of several events during October that celebrated Italian Heritage and Culture Month.
