Students Purchase Clothes, Accessories to Benefit Fashion Show

A sale of clothing items was held in the Hendrick Hudson High School cafeteria to benefit the 2026 Fashion Show.

With a stockpile of clothes, jackets, shoes, and accessories from past editions of the annual Hendrick Hudson High School Fashion Show, event organizers and members of the PTSA hosted a sale at the school cafeteria on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

A sale of clothing items was held in the Hendrick Hudson High School cafeteria to benefit the 2026 Fashion Show.

The sale, which was held during lunch periods, offered items used at previous fashion shows or generously donated by members of the community for purchase.

This was the first time that organizers have held such a sale. Another one will be offered on Tuesday, Dec. 16.

“We have plenty of items available for a low cost,” said Carrie Pastolove, the committee chairperson for the Fashion Show, which will return on March 21. “Any money we make we will reinvest back into the show later this year.”

A variety of items were available for $10 or less, including jackets, shirts, dresses, skirts, hats, shoes and more, and numerous students browsed display tables and racks and made purchases.

Clothes worn at the Fashion Show are always provided to the student participants at no cost. The sale will not only recycle unworn or lightly worn goods, the proceeds will help purchase future items for the popular event.

“We never want them to have to buy anything,” said Pastolove, who has helped run the event the last 11 years.

Although the theme for the upcoming Fashion Show has not been finalized, it will be focused around the school’s Centennial, which falls in 2026.

There is currently a box in the building vestibule to collect additional clothing donations.

“We are still looking for more donations and encourage people to provide whatever they can,” said Board of Education trustee Erica Mills, who assisted with the sale.
