There were 41 students from Hendrick Hudson High School inducted into the World Language Honor Societies on April 24, 2025.

The World Language Honor Societies proudly inducted 41 new members during a ceremony held on April 24, 2025 at Hendrick Hudson High School. Students were selected for maintaining an average of 90 or above for six consecutive quarters and for showcasing outstanding achievement and enthusiasm in their studies.

Spanish student Lila Behrman, Italian student John Jackson and French student Dina Abdallah shared reflections on the value of their world language studies and cultural explorations, reading original pieces that highlighted the importance of linguistic and cultural exploration. Officers and senior members of the honor societies led the ceremony, welcoming the inductees in the presence of students’ families and guests.

"The newly inducted members have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their second language studies and a strong passion for learning about the cultures tied to their languages," World Language teacher Samantha McKay said.

McKay said the students are now in earnest preparation for upcoming the World Language Honor Societies’ initiatives, including Annual Culture Night, which will take place at 5 p.m. on May 29; senior scholarship fundraisers; and efforts supporting St. Jude's.
