  • Taking a Seat During Cardboard Chair Challenge

    Students in Rob Molfetta's Technology Class at Blue Mountain Middle School were tasked with using the engineering design process to design and build chairs using only cardboard and glue, and they were brave enough to invite the school principal to test out the finished product.

  • Indoor Spectator Protocols - UPDATE

    With the decrease in COVID cases, the Hendrick Hudson School District has increased the capacity for spectators at indoor events.  The limit for spectators in the gymnasium will be 225, to allow for necessary social distancing. Click here for more details.

  • District Earns Optimal Score on State Fiscal Stress Test

    The New York State Comptroller’s office recently released the 2021 results for its Fiscal Stress Monitoring System, which measures school districts' ability to generate enough revenue to meet expenditures. The Hendrick Hudson School District fared very well, earning the lowest (optimal) classification for both fiscal and environmental stress.

  • Virtual Visit with "I Survived" Book Series Author

    What would it be like to be a child who survives a tornado, wildfire, shark attack, or other frightening scenario? Author Lauren Tarshis turned her fascination with tales of survival into a best-selling children's book series called "I Survived." On January 13, FGL fourth and fifth graders had the opportunity to meet virtually with the author and learn about the writing process.

  • FGL Fourth Graders Create “Sailor Pride” Newspaper

    Hot off the press! A brand new newspaper at FGL called Sailor Pride Paper has been created by a group of fourth graders who enjoy writing and collaborating creatively. "The students came up with the idea for the newspaper and all of the story ideas themselves," said teacher Megan Boyle. The students brainstormed topics during lunch and recess and then worked on their pieces at home. They are hoping to produce the newspaper monthly and are busy working on their second issue.
