On the evening of November 7, the Blue Mountain Middle School auditorium was filled with proud parents, teachers and administrators, as 48 eighth graders were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society.
The inductees have demonstrated the five pillars of the NJHS: scholarship, character, service, leadership and citizenship.
To be considered for induction, students must have a cumulative average of 95 and perform 30 hours of community service.
After five students lit candles representing each of the NJHS pillars, Callery called the candidates to the stage, one by one. Each candidate was congratulated by teachers and administrators and presented with an NJHS pin.
