Hendrick Hudson High School to Implement Remote Learning Plan January 6 and 7

Dear Hendrick Hudson High School Families,

After much deliberation, Hendrick Hudson High School will be closed to in-person instruction and will implement the Remote Learning Plan for the remainder of the week, January 6 and 7.  Mr. Mackin will send an email later this evening outlining the schedule and providing additional information.

This difficult decision was made based on the high number of staff ineligible to report to work because they are either COVID positive, have been directed to quarantine, or are awaiting COVID test results. Because we will not have adequate staff to safely educate and supervise the children in school, we have no choice but to transition to the remote model.

To be clear, our goal is to open for in-person instruction on Monday, January 10, 2022.  However, the current increase in the infection rate, along with an uptick in positive cases within a short period of time, calls for caution and patience at this time.

I am thankful for your understanding during this very complicated time. We will continue to keep you informed throughout the week.

Regards,

Joseph E. Hochreiter

Superintendent
