Five Hen Hud Athletes Compete at Spring Track and Field State Championships

On June 3 and 4, at Section One’s New York State Qualifier Meet, five HHHS student-athletes qualified for the New York State Track and Field Championships. The championships took place on Friday and Saturday, June 10 and 11, in Syracuse, NY.

The athletes who qualified for this prestigious meet were: Morgan Davis (junior) in the High Jump, Karli Martin (junior) in the Shot Put and Discus, Madeline McKinley (junior) in the Pentathlon, John Sterner (senior) in the 400 Meters, and Jonathon Wong (senior) in the 110-Meter Hurdles.

“These student-athletes have embraced the value of hard work and how it correlates to their success,” said Athletic Director Tom Baker. “They have worked very hard at their craft and we are proud of their accomplishments.  To have the opportunity to compete against the very best in the state is a wonderful opportunity, and we are all proud of their success.”
