Hen Hud’s Alan Zollner Named PLTW Outstanding Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Hendrick Hudson High School teacher Alan Zollner, recently named a 2022-23 Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Outstanding Teacher of the Year! Zollner, who teaches PLTW Principles of Engineering, joins just 58 teachers from across the country being recognized for “inspiring, engaging and empowering their students by creating transformative learning experiences in their classrooms through PLTW programs.” Zollner is now is eligible for a 2022-23 National PLTW Teacher of the Year award, to be announced later this year.

“An outstanding instructor in the classroom, Alan makes valuable real-world connections for our students, bringing in key community partners, planning exciting and relevant field trips, and providing incredible hands-on experiences,” said Acting Principal Anthony Giovinazzi. “His dedication to STEAM education is truly exceptional, and this recent PLTW recognition is a tremendous honor for our school.”

Hen Hud’s PLTW program, which includes tracks in engineering, computer science and biomedical science, has received prestigious accolades in recent years, including Biomedical Science teacher Dr. Jeanine Hall being recognized as a PLTW Outstanding Teacher of the Year and National Biomedical Science Teacher of the Year.
