BMMS Students Celebrate Cultural Traditions

With the guidance of both ENL teacher Gretchen Ward and social worker Stefanie Westrick, Blue Mountain Middle School’s eighth-grade English Language Learners (ELLs) have been celebrating culture, exploring similarities and differences in traditions, and unpacking ideas related to diversity as the school moves towards embracing a truly inclusive climate.

Students created their own unique "Carnival" masks to highlight the festivities in both Ecuador and Brazil which take place this month. “A good time was had by all involved, and a deep appreciation was fostered,” said Ward.
