Fashion Student Takes Design Down the Rabbit Hole

The beloved tale “Alice in Wonderland” is the inspiration for Hendrick Hudson High School senior Amelia Mino’s clothing designs, which will be on display during the annual fashion show at the Career and Technical Education Center at Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES.

Amelia’s line is a take on the Tim Burton reimagining of the Lewis Carroll literary classic.

“I really liked the movie, and I liked the costume design. I thought it was cool,” Amelia said. “I like seeing everything come together once it’s all done,” she said.

Amelia is a student in the Fashion Design and Merchandising class at the Career and Technical Education Center at PNW BOCES. Her creations will be showcased in the annual CTE Fashion Show on May 18 at BOCES’ Yorktown campus.

Like all students in the Fashion Design and Merchandising class, Amelia will graduate with a portfolio and a working knowledge of the fashion industry, including design theory and marketing.
