Business Students Step Inside Stadium with New York Jets

Jets Sports Business Day has become an annual trip for high school business students — one that grants them a special behind-the-scenes vantage point of the inner workings of an NFL team. Last week, Hendrick Hudson students joined others from the tri-state area at the event, which brought them inside MetLife Stadium, the home of the New York Jets and New York Giants.

The students had an opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers about the roles they play within the Jets organization — from sales and marketing to community outreach and more. The students also toured the stadium, visiting clubs for executives and ticket holders.

The students even went inside the Jets team locker room and posed for photos in front of the players’ lockers, including star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

In the past, groups had ended their visit to Jets Sports Business Day by stepping onto the field, but business teacher Linda Cabral Marrero said the field was off-limits as stadium staff prepared for an upcoming game — an indication of just how close students were to the action.

“Overall, it was a great trip that I think the students enjoyed,” Marrero said. “They learned so much about the jobs and career paths of the speakers.”
